Mrs. Terry receives honorary doctorate
At commencement, the University of Georgia awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree to benefactor Mary Virginia Terry, who for more than half a century has provided support to UGA's academic and research programs. Her late husband, C. Herman Terry, earned a business degree in 1939. More »

RMI's Hoyt receives Buce Memorial Award
Robert Hoyt, who heads the college's Risk Management and Insurance program, was presented the Walter H. Buce Memorial Award by the Atlanta chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. The award honors an individual for lasting contributions to the Atlanta insurance community. More »

State Farm gift will create Sanford Hall sales lab
State Farm has committed $96,000 to establish a sales lab in the Terry College. The donation will benefit the Marketing Department, which will use the gift to renovate and outfit space in Sanford Hall to house the lab. More »

Goodhue named head of MIS Department
Dale Goodhue has been re-appointed head of the Management Information Systems Department. He succeeds Richard Watson, who had been serving as the interim department head. Goodhue previously led the department from 2003 to 2006. More »

UGA's Next Top Entrepreneur crowned
Krasidy LLC, a student-created, software development company whose product Studio App generated more than $30,000 in revenue in just eight weeks, was named the winner of UGA's Next Top Entrepreneur competition. More »

The UGA Alumni Association is collecting nominations for the 100 Best Bulldog Businesses, a new program recognizing fast-growing companies owned or operated by UGA alumni. Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 30. More »
