WHAT WE ARE UP TO
TRIPWIRES

Some of our Tripwires trainees have recently visited Palestine after forming their own company Free2B to run workshops investigating freedom of expression and censorship. Read about their experience in the new digital magazine they designed and edited in partnership with QMUL student Kaamil Ahmed.
MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE
in collaboration with Escola Secundaria de Pedro Alexandrino (Portugal), Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre Centre (Poland), Stowarzyszenie Dla Ziemi (Poland), Srebrenica’s Youth Council & Youth Centre (Bosnia), Tallaght Community Arts (Ireland), Theatre Company U (Turkey), Universidad del Pais Vasco (Basque Country)
Message in a Bottle looks at the paradox of water’s potential to create beauty and life as well as conflict and unrest. Designed as a year-long creative enquiry, Message in a Bottle makes an imaginative space for young Europeans to explore the rich dynamics of this paradox in 21st century Europe and the world.
Message in a Bottle uses water as a metaphor for cultural exchange, creative dialogues, artistic and environmental learning. As part of Message in a Bottle, and together with 6 other European partners, Phakama will present a promenade performance in June 2012 at the Regent’s Canal in Mile End - London.
From the 12th to the 19th of November 2011, Phakama hosted partners in London for the project's first international exchange. This week allowed all involved to plan the next phases of Message in a Bottle and to exchange ideas, dreams and aspirations for the future.
