Weekly Devotional:

This week the Daily Devotional focuses on the theme of Freedom.

Christ gave His life for our freedom.

Freedom* in the spiritual sense. . .

*is the summation of Christ's purpose in redemption
*is what God planned for us with Christ's life, death, and resurrection
*is what Paul talks about in Romans 8
*is freedom from ritualistic keeping of the law
*is freedom from anxiety and worry over salvation
*is freedom from the personal responsibility for winning heaven
*is freedom to be ourselves as God has made us
*is freedom from letting others define who we are
*is freedom from letting others judge our spirituality

Because Christ came here to teach us about this freedom and because we have the gift of grace through faith. . .

ALL GOD'S CHILDREN ARE FREE

Christ's life, death, and resurrection give us the freedom to relax in God's grace, knowing that God's love is with us eternally. Our faith reflects this knowledge, and grace gives us strength, joy, and courage no matter what we face in life. (Isaiah 40:31)

Remember to turn in your hidden message slip each week in the basket at the front of church for your chance to win a Starbucks gift card! If you don't yet have a Daily Devotional, please see Marilyn.
