Facebook is huge! And doesn't everyone always say how important it is to network? Facebook and LinkedIn are the ultimate networking tools! They connect you with your prospects and customers in new and engaging ways.
Every small business owner and entrepreneur should invest some time to determine how Facebook fits in with the rest of his or her marketing efforts.

LinkedIn has 50 million users worldwide and they’re growing at roughly one new member per second.
Yeah, a good looking LinkedIn Profile might be a good idea!
Under the Summary section of your LinkedIn profile is a section called Specialties. It's where you mention a few particular skills or experiences you consider your professional ...Specialties! Most people just list it out with commas because LinkedIn doesn't give you the option of bullets... that is unless you know the SUPER SECRET WAY!
Here's how!
There's two ways to create bullets in LinkedIn so pick your poison: 1. Create a list in MSWord, copy it and then paste it in the Specialties section.
OR
2. Copy and paste using these special characters: • ● ✔ ★ ☛ ► ENJOY!!!!! If you need help crafting an exciting LinkedIn profile, visit my Website, LinkedIn-Makeover.com. Or give me a call! 215-436-9520.
How to Respond to Google Alerts Last month we talked about setting up Google Alerts. So what happens when you start finding out what others are saying about you, your services, your customers, etc...? The answer to this question is one word: RESPOND!
Someone says something nice, SAY THANK YOU! If someone says something negative, apologize, offer to make it right and ask to take the rest of the conversation offline. How about if something negative is said about your competitor...AND your competitor DOESN'T RESPOND? You have to be careful here and some might choose to remain mum but you might consider stating something like, "We've always been proud to have them in our space/industry and we are sure they will make things right with you." Do tread carefully. You want to come across as aware and caring but not obnoxious.
Questions and Answers I asked for questions and you guys avalanched me! Here are two of my favorites! Please send me more questions that I can publish in next month's newsletter. Email me!
Hi Donna!
Great newsletter! Got two tips that I have already implemented within minutes after reading. Question: I’m thinking about establishing some kind of on-line community for first line supervisors at human service organizations…they are the target for my leadership work. Would it be better to set up a blog connected to my web site or set up a group within LinkedIn?
--Larry
Hi Larry!
To access the biggest pool of individuals-- I would say the LinkedIn group might be a good way to go. Although, this doesn't need to be an either or scenario. I would also create a landing page for this community on your Website-- this way you can reach a wide audience via LinkedIn and then direct them back to your Website where you could capture their emails for a newsletter or provide them with white papers, a link to your blog or other valuable information.
Good Luck!
--Donna Hi Donna!
I was wondering what happens in the following situation. My brother died suddenly on 2/6 (he was only 49). He had just joined Facebook a couple of weeks earlier. Now is wall has become a kind of tribute page. I have no idea what his password was.
Jim
Hi Jim,
I am so sorry for your loss.
The first thing you want to do is notify Facebook and you can do that here.
Basically, you can ask Facebook to shut it down or you can have them memorialize the account. Certain information is removed but the Wall remains so that friends and family can leave posts in remembrance. Memorializing an account prevents all login access to it - so you will not be able to login as him.
If there's anything I can do-- let me know. If you need further help I am here.
