January 2012

Welcome back. I hope you're all well rested and ready to eat up a storm in this new year!

For me, 2012 kicked off with a six hour long BBQ feast with the family. Check out some of the photos on the side column over on the right.

I'm taking this new year as an opportunity to makeover my new kitchen (to clarify, that is, the kitchen in the new place I'm living at - the state of the kitchen is far from new!). Downsizing is not easy and as I'm now in a kitchen that is more than halve the size of my old kitchen, making it a pleasant place to be in has been tricky! With the help of Howards Storage World, I'll be transforming every cabinet, cupboard and drawer - and even the fridge space! Stay tuned for before/after shots and tips... And there'll even be a super awesome giveaway!

I'm in the process of reviewing several cool new kitchen appliances, and of course, looking forward to the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.

In the meantime, I was on a blogging marathon late last year, so I've got plenty of new restaurants, recipes and travel stories for you to explore on the blog. Check them out in the 'fresh stories' section below.

Until next month, eat well and be safe!

Cheers,
Jen

Kem Chuoi (Vietnamese banana ice-cream)

I had the most unusual craving the other night for my mother's homemade banana ice-cream. Reminiscing about my childhood, my mouth started salivating when I came across a particular flashback. It must've been at least 15 years ago, where hot... Read the full story »

Trinity Bar - Monday $10 sirloin steaks

100 Mile Degustation at Cibo e Vino

Jamie's Italian, Sydney

Not much of a celebrity chef groupie (not that Jamie Oliver is ever physically at this restaurant), I thought I was going to wait this out one. I mean, who really has the time to wait an hour and a... Read the full story »
