Day 38 – Global Access Partnerships
In 1994, ABWE established Global Access Partnerships (GAP) as a strategic link to churches in North America and with Christians around the world. GAP's purpose is promoting missions through mutual partnership and to encourage the participation of God’s people everywhere. In the 17 years since its inception, GAP has established ministry relationships with believers in more than 20 countries.
GAP has also assisted numerous North American churches in developing mission strategies that emphasize international partnerships. These partnerships are beginning to bear fruit, as fledgling mission agencies begin to take root in places not previously known for such activity. Missionaries from various cultures and language groups continue to respond to God’s call to make disciples of all nations.
Prayer Requests
Steve and Becky Overholt
-
Becky, a two-type cancer survivor, now has MDS, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, from her chemo in 2007. If not treated, it will turn to leukemia.
-
She is receiving treatment for the damage to her bone marrow and we are seeking a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
-
We are asking prayer for protection for her, as she has very low white blood cell counts, and also that the right donor would be found. They are hoping to do the transplant in January 2012.
L and D P
-
What a blessing for us to have the opportunity to serve the Lord among the ethnic minority people in two provinces.
-
God is growing the tribal ministry. Now there are 58 small house churches throughout three districts of the province.
-
As the church is growing so fast, the authorities are also stepping up the resistance to Christianity by forcibly confiscating church buildings and evicting Christians from their homes.
-
Please pray that God will work in the hearts of the authorities to give the building back so that they may have a place to worship.
-
Please pray for Christian families evicted from their homes in some of the tribal districts. In one district, the first family ever to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior in that district was evicted.
-
Pray for their safety, as they now live in the jungle; that God will work in their hearts to stand firm in their faith; and that He will protect them from any kind of dangers.
-
Pray for eight families who have turned to Christ. Pray God will be with them and protect them from any kind of evil, and that the Holy Spirit will strengthen their hearts and minds to stand firm in their faith in Christ.
