Day 6 - Costa Rica and Argentina

Costa Rica

Major ABWE Ministries: Church planting

About TACTICA

  • TACTICA's mission is to fulfill the great commission by investing in the lives of Central American authorities and their families through high-quality police training, evangelism and discipleship.
  • TACTICA Ministries hosts short-term teams consisting of Christian police officers approximately three times each year.
  • In August, TACTICA hosted an evangelistic-work team from Grace Spring Bible Church in Richland, Mich. 

Ryan and Gretchen Rought

  • Ryan was born and raised in Pentwater, Mich. He came to know Christ at the age of 6. He served 11 years in the U.S. Army, as well as 12 years as a law enforcement officer with Kalamazoo Public Safety. Ryan committed his life to full-time ministry in 2004.
  • Gretchen grew up in Blissfield, Mich. She was saved at 21. After studying education, German and Spanish in college, she taught middle school-level Spanish for three years.

Jon and Johanna McGinnis

  • Jon grew up in a Christian home and was saved by age 4. Joni, the daughter of a pastor, received Christ at age 5.
  • In 1992, Jon joined the Army National Guard. God used those six years to develop in him a passion to reach the men he served beside.
  • Jon has served as an associate pastor since 2000 with Joni by his side.

Courtney Eaton

  • Courtney grew up in a Christian home and was saved at 13. Courtney, a graduate of Cedarville University, spent her last semester of college student teaching in western Asia.
  • She later taught in Costa Rica at a missionary school.
  • Courtney went intp ministry with TACTICA in 2010, when she began running the children’s ministries.

Mike and Arlene Armstrong

  • Mike, a son of ABWE missionaries, was raised in Peru and Colombia. He accepted Christ at 19 while attending Piedmont Bible College.
  • Mike’s career as a law enforcement officer has spanned 22 years, including service in the U.S. Army.
  • Mike and Arlene surrendered their lives to full-time missionary service in 2006.

Dave and Monika Graef

  • Pray for spiritual growth for the members of Dave and Monika’s church plant in Paraíso. Monika will be teaching three women how to prepare lessons and run the children’s ministry.
  • The Roco Viva Church will hold a family day on October 24.
  • The Graefs leave for furlough ministry in December.

Argentina

Argentina contributes substantially to the character of the entire South American continent. More than one-third of the Argentine population lives in or near the capital city of Buenos Aires. European immigrants spurred modernization following Spanish colonization, making Argentina one of the most industrialized of the major Latin American nations.

Dottie Glorn

  • Dottie has been in Argentina since 1990 and has been working in San Miguel, a suburb of Buenos Aires, for the past eight years. She is assisting in church planting, mainly through evangelism, discipleship and Bible studies.
  • For the past three years, she has also been helping in a church plant 55 miles away in Lujan.
  • Please pray for Lujan, as it is a very difficult area.
