Summer Break? – Give Your Instruments A Break Too!
Many of our customers find that there are a few weeks during the northern hemisphere Summertime that lend themselves quite nicely to repairing and refurbishing their facilities. Of course, if you are really busy there’s never a good time to stop production and carry out maintenance. That’s why at Optimec we introduced the Loan Cell scheme. If you have JCF or Chiltern instruments that require repair or refurbishment but you can’t quite bring yourself to be without them then you need an Optimec Loan Cell. It’s easy. Just call the team here at Optimec with the type and serial number (the multi digit number on the metal plate on the rear of the instrument) of your instrument and we’ll do the rest. Pretty soon you’ll receive a Loan Cell for your instrument which you can install right away. Return your own cell to us, we’ll inspect it, report on the work that needs doing and give you a quotation. Subject to your agreement we carry out the work and return the cell to you. Upon receipt you re fit the cell to your JCF or Chiltern instrument and return the Loan Cell to us…….simple right?

TC20i – For When The Heat Is Really On
Soft Contact Lens manufacturers know only too well that Hydrophillic plastics change shape - it’s what they do! The key of course is to be working with a plastic that changes shape very little and where any shape change has minimal or no impact upon the lens design or functionality. One area that is guaranteed to give lens production staff a headache is temperature fluctuation, and this is never more obvious than during final inspection and measurement. The TC20i Temperature & Filtration Controller changes all that. Whether you are using a JCF or another Optimec instrument such as a JCM or SAG the TC20i will ensure that you always achieve consistent measurements. The fully digital TC20i controls the saline temperature within a wet cell to +/- 0.5 Deg C within the range 15-40 Deg C, and we reckon that ought to cover most eventualities. In addition the “self pumped” TC20i incorporates a filtration system to ensure that your saline is kept bright and clear so that on screen images are sharp and precise.

Don’t Despair – Just SAG A Little!
Those newly acquainted with the Optimec range of instruments might be surprised to learn that alongside the ever popular JCF & Chiltern models we also manufacture instruments aimed at those wanting a quick but accurate measurement of the Sagittal Height of a lens. This particular dimension seems to be one that is keenly observed by volume lens manufacturers as being a good early indicator of fluctuations in moulding conditions. Optimec produces both the JCM and SAG30 or SAG34 (large diameter lenses) both of which will do a very good job of keeping track of this critical dimension. 37th EFCLIN Congress And Next The 38th
