Gasworks Arts Park, Melbourne’s freshest comedy hub is opening its International Comedy Season with a bang. They’re throwing you a party! On Tuesday March 23 their doors open to launch two exhibitions, the world renowned Magicians Charles Gauci and Ross Skiffington as well as UK wobbly superstar Francesca Martinez. In the gala opening to the season, Gasworks brings you photography in LAUGHING GAS, the illustrations of Sally Rippin in PEEKING DUCKS. Plus special guest performances in a night of fun and hilarity not to be missed. DJ’s and Bar open till late! UK’s Francesca Martinez is a multi award-winning “wobbly” comedian, actor, writer and speaker who has sell-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival to her rapidly-rising name. She returns to Australia to take part in Adelaide Fringe and for exclusive Melbourne performances at Gasworks Arts Park. As part of Gasworks Comedy season (The Other Comedy Hub), Francesca Martinez performs her new personal, hilarious and hard-hitting show solo “wobbly” show that sold out in London, Edinburgh, Cape Town and Adelaide. Gasworks Arts Park presents an annual program of more than 60 performing arts productions, 30 exhibitions, five festivals, 12 farmers’ markets, conferences, forums, creative development sessions and workshops for all levels.
