| An Encouraging Word...
Author and preacher Tony Campolo said that when his wife, Peggy, was at home full time with their children and someone would ask, "And what is it that you do, my dear?"
She would respond, "I am socializing two homosapiens into the dominant values of the Judeo-Christian tradition in order that they might be instruments for the transformation of the social order into the kind of eschatological utopia that God willed from the beginning of creation."
Then Peggy would ask the other person, "And what do you do?"
I think Peggy Campolo understood the crucial role that mothers play in God’s kingdom. We at FBC recognize the same thing. Mothers are indispensable to the fulfillment of our church purpose - sharing God’s love and hope to transform hearts, homes, Westchester and the world.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday, Mother’s Day, as we gather to worship God. As the giver of every good and perfect gift, it is fitting that we praise our Heavenly Father for moms who lovingly give themselves to the task of transforming the social order into the kind of eschatological utopia that God willed from the beginning of creation.
