What's New.
November has been rather slow and a little depressing due to my inability to ride until I'm fully capable. Although I've finally gotten to a point in my life where all the jobs I currently have are fully dedicated to the motorcycling industry, I'm still going through riding withdrawal.  Everytime I see someone out riding, I want to hurl expletives at them for being able to do something that I desperately want to do again. How sad is that?

I've started working part time in the office for the MSF School that I have been a RiderCoach for the past 5.5 years.  Speaking with potential students about why they should take this class, or how much fun it's going to be has been so rewarding.  I feel like it's keeping me connected to the riding community.

I've also had a lot of interactions with people who are having a hard time learning to ride for a myriad of reasons. I feel bad for those who really do want to learn but just can't seem to figure out why things aren't working in their favor.  I try to remind them that riding takes time.

Rushing and trying to sign up for a class in 2 days isn't a good foundation for the rest of your riding career. For those of you who have been riding for years and years, you know how much work it took for you to get to this point.  It wasn't easy, wasn't fun the entire time and you probably fell a couple times and went through a little motorcycle heartache, so to speak.

So if you (or someone you know) might be struggling right now, I urge you to not be so hard on yourself, work on things a little at a time and remember that motorcycling is a lifelong learning process. Keep practicing and celebrate and recognize each riding accomplishment, no matter how small it may seem.

Int'l Motorcycle Shows
The San Mateo IMS just rolled on through the Bay Area on Nov. 20th.  I'll be working the Long Beach IMS this weekend, in the women's center.  Please stop by, say hi and take a few minutes to sit in on my gear seminars. I'll be there starting 6pm Friday night through 3pm Sunday afternoon.

Taste of San Francisco.
Last month (11/17) I was proud to be a part of a local edition of the SideStandUp radio show.  Carla King and I were able to round up a great selection of San Francisco motorcycling guests including: Larry Saenz, of BMW Motorcycles, Gabe Ets-Hokin, Editor of Citybike Magazine; Jennifer Bromme, owner of Werkstatt Motorcycle Repair, and Crystal Gurr, Co-Owner of Scuderia West.

If you missed the live podcast, I urge you to catch up on the recording on iTunes or from the Talkshoe website. Everyone was recorded live and in person, and it definitely made for a really fun, vibrant discussion.  There's something about the San Francisco riding community that sets it apart from anywhere else in the country. I hope you'll listen and get a taste of SF.

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Riding Season!
