Inside this issue... Trick or Trunk?Hi <<First Name>>, When you watch a film do you wonder where the idea came from and how long it took the writer to create the plot?
Last week I was driving to a friend's home minding my own business when I noticed the car in front of me had a foot sticking out of the trunk. A bare human foot, probably size 8 or 10. Immediately my imagination went into overdrive. Why was a foot sticking out of the trunk? It's October; maybe someone is playing a Halloween prank? On the other hand, maybe the driver killed someone and was hiding the body. Maybe it was a kidnapping?
By the time I quit following the car, I had five or six brilliant scenarios that would make wonderful films. (I don't know if the foot was real or a fake, but I'm keeping my eyes open as I drive around town.)
Keep your eyes open because you never know where the next good idea will come from. And if you think there really is a dead body in a car in front of you, you should probably call the police!

Angela Walker ChristianMovieNews.com Industry Interview Christians in Cinema: Charles Marshall by Angela Walker Dandy-like and dandified is how Charles Marshall describes himself the day we talk. He's feeling pretty good about life and before a minute has passed, he's making cracks about the time of day, as well as Fresno, California. You offer corporate communication and entertainment in addition to stand-up comedy. Which came first, or did they evolve at the same time?
Charles: I started doing stand-up comedy in churches. I'm kind of an exception. I meet a lot of Christian comedians who got started in the clubs, then they had a conversion experience, or were led by the Lord, to start working in churches. I was doing music in churches then started having trouble with my voice... [ Read more... ]

Jesus...No Greater LoveThe truth of the gospel never changes. But Christianity has many faces. They reflect the customs and cultures and the beautiful diversity of the global church. How did this happen you may ask? A group of talented, dedicated Christian filmmakers got together and produced a top notch movie in the genre of Alfred Hitchcock, Frank Capra or Horton Foote. They found a way to stimulate and even excite the audience without using the usual cheap tricks employed by most lazy Hollywood filmmakers. In Mercy Streets, might does not make right. In fact, the strength of this film is in its clear message that there are Godly requisites for true conflict resolution, and what's more, they work to everyone's advantage.
