Past Events

ESN Tallinn Movie Night I/IV
ESN Tallinn Orientation Week kicked off on the 8th of September with a Movie Night. We showed "Laulev revolutsioon" in cinema Kosmos. There were approximately 140 participants who left the cinema with a better understanding about what Estonians have lived through and what is the meaning of singing for us. Famous Estonian composer Hirvo Surva, who also has a big role in the movie, was in the cinema to answer all the questions from the students about the movie. The person with the best question was Dmitri Voropanov who received the DVD of the movie as a prize. The atmosphere in the cinema was nice, everybody paid close attention to the details in the movie and many interesting discussions were opened with the questions from the audience.

ESN Tallinn Bus Tour
ESN Tallinn Orientation Week's second event was a bus tour on the 10th of September. There were three buses, 8 ESN members as guides and around 170 students attending. We visited the historic industrial and residential districts Kalamaja and Kopli, Soviet residential districts Õismäe, Lasnamäe and Mustamäe, made a group photo with the statue of conductor Gustav Ernesaks on Song Festival Grounds and enjoyed the view on Tallinn's silhouette in Pirita. The trip started and ended at the city centre and lasted for about two and a half hours. Many students were exited to see the locations that are normally not visited that often and the different stories from the guides.

ESN Tallinn City Game
ESN Tallinn Orientation Week third event was City Game. Approximately 100 students gathered in front of Kalev Spa and were devided into 8 teams - in teams there were students who met for the first time. After receiving the assignements and rules all teams were sent on their way. The weather was sunny and perfect for discovering Tallinn's Old Town. Students had to find different locations in the Old Town and complete different assignements - measuring the fattest lady in Tallinn, butt spelling "Erasmus", singing "Põdra maja", counting the steps from the viewing platform and many other fun assignements. Later everybody gathered in Von Krahl where some delicious cake was served, everybody had a chance to mingle and the results were announced. The best team was team number 7! 3 best teams were awarded! It was a fun day for both Erasmus and International students and ESN Tallinn members giving out the assignements!
