Happy Fun Times!

I know it is hard to believe, but an entire month has passed since the inaugural edition of the Avio Newsletter was delivered to your inbox.  While not everyone wakes up every morning wondering what great things are happening in the world of BPM, those of us at  Avio are a bit strange and do tend to wonder that exact thing every morning.  Who doesn't get just a little bit fired up each morning thinking about how to drive organizational excellence and efficiency through the use of great technology?

What Is Going On Out There?

Since the beginning of the year, there have been a number of acquisitions that are changing the face of the BPMS market.  Of course, IBM purchased Lombardi back in January.  And shortly thereafter, Savvion was acquired by Progress Software.  And even just the other day, Chordiant was acquired by Pega.  Most research organizations have projected a huge growth in the adoption and use of BPMS products in the coming year and it doesn't appear anyone wants to get left behind.  Having been through two acquisitions before, we know it can take a lengthy amount of time to aggregate product features, develop a road map, and build momentum for the merged organizations.  It will be interesting to see what the final products and messaging look like for each of the acquiring organizations.

Hooray for Us!

We are a bit late to the table in tooting our own horn about this, but Gartner released a "Who's Who in BPM Services" at the beginning of the year and profiled 17 of the top BPM system integrators from around the world.  We were ecstatic Avio was included in the report and that we are rated very well.  According to Gartner, "While Avio does support projects in all corners of the Four Corners Framework for BPM, its advanced capabilities in three areas —tools and process assets, BPMTs, and SOA — make it especially suitable for the BPM sweet spot."  Given our relative youth as an organization, it is exciting for us to be included in a Who's Who list with the likes of Accenture, IBM Global Services, and Capgemini.

Recent Blog Posts

We have done a number of blog posts since the last newsletter and hope everyone finds them informative and enlightening.  There are a number of ways in which you can keep up to date on the blogs.  If you are interested in all aspects of BPM, there is an RSS feed which will show all blog posts which are classified as BPM.  However, if you find the posts of a particular blogger of interest, there is an RSS feed for each individual blogger as well.  Next newsletter, we plan to have some details on each blogger to help you determine who may be of most interest to you.
