1. Co-op Committees Now Forming for 2012!

Invitation to Join Newark Community Co-op Committees:

The Co-op Board of Stewards invites all those who are interested to sign up for one or more of the eight committees now forming for 2012!

1. Bylaws Committee
2. Core Members Committee
3. Finance Committee
4. Outreach Committee
5. Personnel Policy Committee
6. Point of Sale Committee
7. Sustainability Committee
8. Website/IT Committee

There are two ways to signup for a committee: (1) Send your name, member #, phone # (and e-mail address if you have one) and the committee(s) that you would like to join to boardofstewards@newarknaturalfoods.com, or (2) signup in-person in the Co-op at the customer service desk.

We will contact you as the committee gets underway. The new committees will also be on the agenda for the January Monthly Co-op Board Meeting, where we'll discuss them in more detail.

2. 10% Off Member Appreciation Sale Ends 12/31/11!

Our 10% Off Everything in the Store (Including Sale Items!) Member Appreciation Sale ends on 12/31/11!

Stock up on any of the below December Sale Items and New Products, Health and Nutrition Books, Nutritional Supplements, Organic Produce (http://bit.ly/tIvuzz), Grocery Items, Natural Bodycare Products, Bulk Items, Earth-friendly Household Cleaners, Frozen Foods and other products - everything is 10% off for Co-op Members who have not yet used the 10% Member Appreciation Coupon (a 4" x 5" blue card sent by mail 2-3 weeks ago)! If you no longer have your card and you would like to receive the Member Appreciation 10% discount, stop by the store and ask to speak with a front-end supervisor.

Reminders: This promotion is for Co-op Members only - members who have not yet used their 10% Member Appreciation Card, which was sent by mail 2-3 weeks ago. The promotion is for one shopping trip per member. No double-dipping! :)

6. The Winter Market

Stop by to check out "The Winter Market" in The Meadow (next door to The Co-op), on Sunday, 1/8/12!

The Winter Market features local foods and handcrafted goods. Dates for the Winter Market are every other Sunday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day: 12/18, 1/8, 1/22, 2/5, 2/19, 3/4, 3/19. Our outdoor Summer Farmer's Market will resume on the first Sunday in May (the 6th), 10 AM to 2 PM.

7. Co-op Kids' Coloring Contest!

• All kids who submit coloring entries will receive a healthy food prize for their entry!
• The top three entries for boys and girls from age groups 2-5, 6-8 and 9-12 will receive children's gift baskets of kid-friendly, healthy foods!
• Click the above images to download full size images for printing and coloring. Children can also submit their own drawings and coloring projects!
• The winners will be selected on Saturday, December 17th.
• Entries will be posted in the seated area of the Co-op and/or The Meadow (the lecture and event room next door to the Co-op)!
