Karen Keith was elected County Commissioner for District 2 in 2008. In 2002, Karen became the Mayor's Director of Community Relations and Vision implementation. Karen will talk to us about efforts to create a new Juvenile Justice Campus and it's long term impact on public safety for Tulsa County. She will also discuss efforts to create efficiencies between the city and county.

2011 Bixby BBQ and Music
It's here! This is the week!!! The 10th Annual Bixby BBQ 'n' Music Festival is ready to go!

So get your purple Piggy shirt on, roll up your sleeves and work up an appetite for some of the best barbeque in the state. Then after your volunteer shift is done, sit back in that lawn chair, drink a cool beverage and enjoy some of the best music to be heard on a warm night in May on the banks of the river. und you'll hear the sounds of children laughing with delight as they enjoy all the fun they can handle in the outstanding Kids Zone. It promises to be a great event and you are the "stars" who help it all come together. See you there!

CHOICES
CHOICES is an interactive decision-making workshop that empowers teens to achieve academic success in pursuit of their career and life aspirations. Presentation to Bixby Middle School 8th graders is scheduled for May 12th and 13th. Thank you to all of you who volunteered to be presenters.

Water Projects on Tap

The International H2O Collaboration is an example of Rotary's dedication to water and sanitation issues, an area of focus under The Rotary Foundation's Future Vision Plan. Rotarians interested in water and sanitation can attend a workshop on the International H2O Collaboration, moderated by Thorfinnson, on 24 May at the 2011 RI Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA . The Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group will also host a fourth annual World Water Summit on 20 May at the New Orleans Marriott.
