Local MP to Meet Female Social Entrepreneurs
Social Enterprise Network (SEN) and The Women's Organisation, two leading business support organisations in Merseyside, are to host a joint event to help existing and budding female social entrepreneurs from the region later this week.

Social Firms UK appoints new Chief Executive
The Social Firms UK Board has appointed Michele Rigby as the organisation's new Chief Executive. Michele is currently Chief Executive of SEEE, the East of England's social enterprise support agency and will take up the post from January 2012. Michele replaces Sally Reynolds, co-founder of Social Firms UK and its Chief Executive since 2004, who decided to leave due to exceptional personal circumstances.

The Reader Organisation's Ha'Penny and Penny Readings 2011
It's become one of the most-anticipated Christmas events in Liverpool: the annual Penny Readings. This year's event will be held on Sunday 4th December at 6pm, in the Small Concert Room at St. George's Hall.

The Social Enterprise Mark has been launched as the brand for social enterprise. The Mark identifies businesses which meet defined criteria for social enterprise in order that customers and commissioners recognise that businesses displaying the Mark are trading to benefit people and planet. MyCommunitySpace

MyCommunitySpace is a free premises resource designed especially for those in the community and voluntary sector. Launched earlier this year in London, the site has been successfully receiving over 17,000 unique visitors and has now launched to serve those with space requirements in the North West of England.
