September is National Library Card
Sign-Up Month!
Throughout the month of September stop by with your library card to get your picture taken and added to our "I Got Mine" poster. All Lillie M. Evans Library patrons photographed will be entered into a prize drawing. The winner will be drawn Monday, October 3rd.
Zumba Fitness!
Tuesdays & Thursdays in the library meeting room we will be showing Zumba DVDs starting at 6:15pm. The class is free and open to everyone. Enter at the south door, near garden gate. Call the library at 309-385-4540 for more details, pre-registration is NOT required.
Teen Programs Return!
Tuesday, September 6th will be the reopening of HS Cafe. HS Cafe is open to all high school age teens on Tuesdays and Fridays, 3:15p - 5p in the library's meeting room. Teens are encouraged to come hang out, play Wii games, or use laptops.
On Sept 30th, Oct. 14 & 21st we will be having HS Cafe until 6:30p so teens can stay until home games start.
 MAG Mondays resume September 12th @ 3:30p - 5p. MAG is open to 6th-12 graders and will be held the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. We will alternate between anime movies and gaming days. See bit.ly/teenspace for dates and more event details.
Also, BAA (Book Addicts Anonymous) will resume their meetings in September as well. Contact the library to find out what the September book will be and to get your copy. Their next meeting will be held September 28th @ 5:15 pm. BAA is open to all high school age teens.
Fall Storytime (3-5 y/o's)
Fall Storytime for 3-5 year olds will begin on September 13th. It will run for 6 weeks, Tuesdays, September 13 – October 18 @ 9:30 AM. You may sign up by phone, in person or register online. Space is limited so register ASAP.
After School Specials!
K-5th graders can join us:
- September 15th at 3:20p-5p BINGO!
- October 20th at 2:20p-4p Fall Harvest Fun Day! Craft and Movies (call for titles). There will be refreshments provided!
Parent/Child Storytime
Parent/Child Storytime is at 10am the 2nd Saturday of the month, except the first one. Our first session will be November 19th for children 18 months - 5 years. Kids and parents will enjoy stories, sing-alongs and activities. Parent/Child Storytime runs thru April 2011. You may sign up by phone, in person or register online.
Teen & Adult Make-it/Take-it
November 16th at 6:30p we'll show you how to make a beautiful glass photo ornament. Please register by phone or in person by November 11th. To register online click here (please note additional attendees under comments section). Age 13+ only.
Family Reading Night 2011
November 17 @ 6:00p parents, children and grandparents are invited to a night at the library reading, listening to stories, doing crafts and having fun! There will be a reading and fun activities planned for the evening.
