Kelley and Theodora finished the shop and after gathering most of the supplies to create Kelley's deliciously clean and fragrant soap, Kelley worked to create order out of the piles of supplies that littered the room. With a giggle and a happy wave, Theodora had just zipped off to the super secret fairy black market to purchase a vat of the golden elixir that Kelley had received as a gift from Bronson many months earlier. (This elixir had allowed Kelley to finally perfect her soap recipe and resulted in a gorgeous bar of soap with a delicious scent that clung to the body after rinsing. A great mask to the foul odors that were so pervasive in the 1700's. But really, if you're not up to speed on important points like the golden elixir, I suggest visiting the History website to get caught up. You're missing lots!)
While Theodora was off on this most important mission, Kelley was alone. Silently singing a happy little ditty, she was so engrossed in her work she was unaware of the arrival at the door. For a few moments, Grismelda stood there, silently seething as she observed the happily glowing Kelley, her anger quickly growing to a rather scary level. Then, with a roar of anger, she charged into the room, screaming gibberish. Kelley levitated off the floor in shock and fear and quickly realizing the danger she was in, thought about the safety the back of the room afforded. With a small poof! she found herself there and immediately pressed herself into a corner. Heart beating wildly in fear, she began to freak out - no one could hear her! Theodora was gone! In a matter of a few moments, Grismelda would have her bound and would be carting her back to the farm where she would likely spend the rest of her (probably short) life locked in the cellar or being sold in slavery to some old farmer. With this thought, Kelley screwed her eyes shut and thought of the only person that could possibly help her in this moment - Bronson.
Grismelda was flinging supplies left and right in frenzied anger as she made her way through the piles to the back of the store. As she reached out to grab Kelley around the throat she was flung violently back by a great force and fell heavily to the floor. A huge cloud of purple fog hung in the air and she gaped in disbelief as a hideous little gnome stepped out and stomped menacingly towards her. In a large, booming voice (quite shocking coming from such a small creature) the gnome, Bronson (of course!), stood over the now cowering Grismelda and bellowed, "you will not touch this girl! Pity for your wretched soul has spared my hand this time, but this shall not happen again. Remove yourself immediately and do not look back. Your life is forfeit from this point forward should you EVER attempt to contact, harm, or in any way, distress the Princess. Be gone, you vile woman!"
Without a second thought, Grismelda shot to her feet, gathered her skirts in hand, and bolted out of the shop, the sound of her fleeing broken by her scream of horror as a bucket of waste was flung out of the upper window, coating her in all manners of disgusting muck. (We won't talk about this anymore… I'm gagging at the thought.) As she fled the town, never to return, Bronson turned from the door and hurried over to Kelley, who was sat wide-eyed in the corner. Bronson tenderly hugged her and Kelley found herself welling up with tears. He had saved her. Again! She looked at him and it was as if she was bewitched - before her eyes he began to lose much of his hideousness and in the space of just a few moments, could actually be thought of as handsome. Beautiful even. Kelley hugged him tightly and began to kiss him with quick little smooches all over his head and face. Bronson turned beet red, stammered incoherently for a moment, and then vanished as quickly as he had come.
With a dreamy sigh, Kelley rose from the floor and began to clean the mess Grismelda had made. The rest of the day was spent in romantic daydreaming - the subject of each one being Bronson. In the space of one short afternoon, Kelley had fallen madly in love with the gnome, and when Theodora arrived back later that evening, she found a lovestruck Kelley sitting on the center table, a dopey smile gracing her face as she lazily swung her feet back and forth and sniffed at a rose that she held up to her face. Ahhh...

Want a great way to protect your scale?
While the unit is off, simply place a clean sheet of "cling wrap" over the platform of the scale and another piece over the control center of the scale to protect your control buttons from messy oils and butter or worse.
In addition, if you're a messy measurer, you can encase the entire scale into a large ziploc bag. When this is closed, it protects the scale from oil, lye, or other liquid spills. When the bag gets too dirty, replace with a new one. Your scale will last MUCH longer!
